Skidaway Island State Park, Savannah, GA, June 2017

June 19, 2017 by SuzAnne Leave a Comment

There was so much to see and do at Skidaway Island State Park but we were there for too short a time. We feel like we got a good “lay of the land” so we can plan a future trip. The marshes and maritime forests of this State Park are teeming with wildlife and gorgeous views. There are several great restaurants in the area. (We loved Driftaway Cafe.) Trails were well marked and well kept. There was so much to see and experience at every turn. The park has a great Interpretive Center that features a replica of a giant sloth, mounted and live wildlife, artifacts, and a bird viewing area. The park is close to downtown Savannah and Tybee Island.
