Every year, our family tries to visit a different Michigan State Park. This year we visited Interlochen State Park which is nestled between Duck and Green Lakes in the Northern Lower Peninsula.
It is a beautiful, heavily forested, and quiet park even though it has close to 500 sites. We had a deep site that backed up to the woods. A truck, jeep, small camper, tent, and two hammocks fit in it easily. The beach was very clean and nice.
Interlochen is only 30 minutes away from Traverse City. We arrived on the last day of the National Cherry Festival and stayed through the firework finale. We ate great food at the festival and walked around the downtown area. The fireworks were shot from a boat in Grand Traverse Bay. We returned the next morning to eat breakfast at Bubba’s. It was sooooo good!!!
